PLATTSBURGH CITY, NY -- 9/13/22
Plattsburgh City tried to put on its best face during the weekend.
It held its annual Battle of Plattsburgh (BOP) event that commemorates the decisive naval engagement waged in 1814 on Lake Champlain. Americans won against the British, helping to bring the War of 1812 to an end.
Visitors were welcome to enjoy all of the activities including recreations of battles by reenactors to a grand parade. And vendors provided all sorts of eats and drinks.
On Friday evening I was walking along when I spotted two doggie decorations on the sidewalk. I tried to warn a couple approaching the spot but I was too late, the man took a step -- squish.
He wiped the mess from his shoe on the grass. I told him such incidents were typical for the town.
The next day while I was walking along the same stretch of sidewalk I spotted a fresh decoration. The green flies appreciated the feast.
Take Price, Plattsburgh City!
